Greetings Indian Creek Elementary Community,
It is an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal at Indian Creek Elementary. Through collaboration with students, families, colleagues, and the community, I am dedicated to fostering a learning environment that supports student success. With 19 years of experience in education and leadership, my passion has always been to ensure that students, families, colleagues, and the community feel welcomed, valued, and engaged as partners in our students’ education.
I look forward to working alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, families, and community partners to uphold the values of Indian Creek Pride and the mission of DeKalb County School District. Together, we will create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to excel in education.

Greetings Dreamcatchers and Families,
My name is Dr. Shawna M. Tamakloe. For the 2024-2025 school year, I am thrilled to begin my 1st academic year as the Assistant Principal of Indian Creek Elementary School, where students are known to “Disrupt for Excellence” and are poised to reach “New Levels and New Heights.” I have been a part of the Indian Creek family for the past 21 years in different capacities. I am excited to remain in the Clarkston community as a leader, helping to build a bridge and not a wall for our students and families. The beauty of working at Indian Creek is that you can foster strong familial relationships, embrace diverse cultures, and empower students to reach their academic and language goals. The core of my work is the establishment of a learning environment that is equitable and conducive to the success of students, as well as a sense of belonging. It is of the utmost importance to me that all individuals who enter our building are regarded with dignity and respect. I am proud to serve as your Assistant Principal and look forward to upholding the mission and vision of Indian Creek Elementary School.
